About Joni
A Local with Deep Roots and Real Insight
I first moved to Sonoma County in 1986 from Bozeman, Montana. At the time, I planned to attend Sonoma State University—but to avoid out-of-state tuition, I chose a different path and spent the next 20 years working in accounting. Eventually, I returned to school and earned my BA in Environmental Planning from SSU in 2006.

Planning Background, Real-World Benefits
After graduating, I began a new chapter as a planner, starting as an intern in 2005 and working in the field until 2008, when the market crash led to job cuts. This experience gave me in-depth knowledge of land use, permitting, and how to identify potential natural hazards—skills I now use to guide my clients in making smart, informed real estate decisions.

A Love for the Land—and the Ocean
When I first arrived in Sonoma County, I spent countless hours exploring back roads, always looking for new ways to get to the coast—my favorite place. To this day, I still follow the tidal charts so I can explore tidepools and discover the incredible marine life and rock formations that only shows up at low tide.

Life Outside of Real Estate
I’m happiest when I’m outside—gardening, hiking, biking, or just soaking up the natural beauty of the Mendonoma Coast. I also love music, dancing, singing, and traveling whenever time allows. My partner Brian and I now live in Point Arena with our two cats, Corky and Cheesiepoof—and we share our home with six chickens and six rabbits, who keep us endlessly entertained.

Deep Local Knowledge Across the Region
Over the years, I’ve lived and worked across much of Sonoma and Mendocino Counties—including Santa Rosa, Windsor, Rohnert Park, Petaluma, Sebastopol, Forestville, Guerneville, The Sea Ranch, and Gualala. That deep local knowledge helps me guide clients who are relocating or unsure of which part of the coast feels like “home.”
